Fabian Giessmann named FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 MVP

DEBRECEN (Hungary) – Fabian Giessmann of Baskets Bonn (GER) capped a dominant run at the Kossuth Square with Most Valuable Player honors on 30 August, leading his team to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 title.

Giessmann was at the heart of Bonn's latest triumph as the German side continued an extraordinary run of form. After winning the World Tour stops in Amsterdam and Lausanne, Bonn made it three consecutive WT stop victories in Debrecen, defeating Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) 21-17 in the Final.

The 21-year-old big man delivered across the weekend, finishing with 45 points and a 44.0 player value, the second-highest totals in the tournament in both categories. Giessmann also recorded two double-fives, the most in the field, while making 10 two-pointers, eight free throws and four dunks. He added 18 rebounds as Bonn completed another unbeaten run to the title.

Bonn had to play their way from the Qualifying Draw to advance to the knockout phase, sweeping all seven games in Debrecen to raise the winners' banner. That makes Bonn the first team out of any Qualifying Draw to win a WT stop this year. Across their last three WT stops, Baskets Bonn have won 16 straight games -- the hottest streak yet this season.

Giessmann's performance earned him the MVP trophy, capping a remarkable stretch for him and Baskets Bonn. With their third straight World Tour stop victory, Bonn have now firmly established themselves as the team to beat on the Pro Circuit.
