Baskets Bonn rule Manila, Liman, Toronto and Skyliners punch tickets to World Tour Vienna

MANILA (Philippines) – Baskets Bonn (GER) completed a thrilling run at the FIBA 3x3 Manila Challenger 2026 after edging Liman (SRB), 19-18, in a tense Final.

The German side survived a stacked field and several nail-biters en route to the title in Manila, while Liman, Toronto (CAN) and Skyliners (GER) secured qualification spots to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Vienna 2026.

The Winner: Baskets Bonn (GER)

Baskets Bonn showed composure, toughness and shot-making throughout the tournament before lifting the trophy in Manila.

The Germans had to survive a dramatic pool stage battle against Shanghai (CHN), where Fabian Giessmann buried a game-winning two-pointer at the buzzer for a 19-18 victory. They later rallied from an early deficit to defeat Fuengirola (ESP) and top Pool C.

Bonn then overcame a spirited Singapore (SGP) side in the quarterfinals before producing a stunning comeback against Toronto in the Semi-Finals. Trailing 13-6 midway through the contest, Bonn erupted on a scorching 10-0 run to completely flip the game.

In the Final, Giessmann once again delivered under pressure, scoring 11 points as Bonn held off a late Liman rally to secure the title. Denzel Agyeman was named tournament MVP after averaging 5.4 ppg while leading the event in highlights and drives.

The Runner-up: Liman (SRB)

Liman looked dominant for most of the tournament and entered the Final unbeaten.

The Serbian powerhouse cruised through Pool A with commanding wins over Singapore and London (GBR) before defeating Fuengirola in the Quarter-Finals.

Liman then survived a physical semifinal clash against Skyliners, closing the game on a decisive 6-0 run. Dusan Popovic and Stefan Milivojevic consistently powered the offense throughout the tournament.

The Final

The championship game lived up to the hype as Bonn and Liman traded blows in a gritty defensive battle.

Bonn controlled much of the middle stages and led 16-12 with under two minutes remaining before Liman stormed back behind consecutive two-pointers to tie the game at 16-all.

Giessmann responded with three huge points to give Bonn a 19-16 advantage late in the contest. Milivojevic knocked down a clutch two-pointer to cut the deficit to one, but Bonn held firm defensively in the closing seconds to seal the 19-18 victory.

The Reward

The top three eligible teams earned qualification spots to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Vienna 2026.
